Profile:

Dr. Ching-Ping Chang received her Ph.D. in Physiology from National Yang-Ming University in 2004 in the cerebrocardiovascular field. After graduating, she became a full professor in 2013 in the Department of Biotechnology of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Tainan, Taiwan. Her solid physiology background and excellent scientific performance made her a PI and chair of the Cerebrocardiovascular Laboratory at Chi Mei Medical Center in August 2016. Her research focused on molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying brain ischemia-reperfusion-induced motor, cognitive, and thermoregulatory dysfunction, especially in the relationship between neuroinflammation and neurogenesis. Additionally, her research interests also involve the pathogenesis of stress-induced hemodynamic changes, exertional heatstroke, neurotrauma, hemorrhagic shock, and Alzheimer’s disease. She has won awards such as the Outstanding Research Talent Award from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Outstanding Paper Award for the Cross-Strait Cardiovascular Science Conference, and the Teaching Excellence Award. In the past five years, Dr. Chang has been granted ten grants as PI from the National Science and Technology Council, Chi Mei Medical Center, and other resources in Taiwan. Dr. Chang has published over 120 original articles plus five reviewer papers in many well-known medical journals and obtained eight patents in the past twenty years
