Service Features

  1. Comprehensive development of emergency AI to assist clinical decision-making

Chi Mei's emergency department has developed seven types of AI disease prediction systems, including alerts during triage, diagnosis and disposition. These effectively provide an additional layer of assistance at busy emergency departments, which can improve the quality of medical care and enhance patient safety.

  2. Seamless integration of AI into emergency practice

The AI applications developed for the emergency department are based on actual clinical needs and are therefore widely accepted. However, since we did not want the introduction of AI to hinder clinical operations in the emergency department, we simply added a button "disease prediction" to the emergency HIS. If physicians need to utilize this AI prediction, they click this button, and the patient’s risk burden is automatically calculated.

  3. AI can be used to assist medical and disease sharing decision-making

Chi Mei emergency AI has interactive functions. Users can adjust parameters of various influencing factors and immediately see how these factors may influence patient outcome. The medical team can thus anticipate a patient’s clinical deterioration, provide health education for patients, and promote shared decision making (SDM).

Automatic prediction Continuous prediction combined with real-time IoT measurements

  4.  AIoT technology sourcing

We introduce advanced AI Internet of Things (AIoT) technology to automatically capture the latest physiological values of emergency patients (such as blood pressure, heartbeat, etc.), update the prediction results in real time, and continuously provide real-time trends in disease risk.

  5. Full implementation of emergency AI

Building upon international academic literature, domestic and foreign conferences, and expert discussions, emergency AI research at Chi Mei Hospital successfully adapts research subjects into clinical applications. At present, seven types of AI disease prediction systems have been launched, and several more are under development. Our emergency AI implementation is at the forefront of hospitals at home and abroad.

  6. Cloud service architecture is conducive to technology transfer

AI application software is designed with a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), with cross-platform features, which is conducive to integration and expansion. Such software can be easily transferred to hospitals lacking in computing resources, providing them with medical center-level services. Transfer strategies include: (1) directly transferring to other medical institutions; (2) assisting other hospitals to build models for their own use with their own data; (3) developing a cloud platform for use by medical institutions at home and abroad.
